Are Monday Sunrise Hikes Going to Become a Weekly Thing? Stay Tuned!

OVERVIEW

Despite every one of my instincts screaming at me to not commit myself to waking up so excruciatingly early, here I go! Last week’s Blairfence sunrise was pretty dang successful and fun if I do say so myself, so I’ll test my luck and give it another shot.

What better way to start off your week than with an uber-early sunrise hike? For this trip I’d like to check out Spyrock, which I hear has a pretty dang nice view, especially of the rising sun.

The sun rises at approximately 6:52am, and the hike itself is 1.5 or so miles (3 miles round trip). It’s an intermediate hike, and moving quickly would be beneficial to our soaking up of the whole sunrise, so be ready!

We’ll meet at Echols at 4:20am (because 4:30am is too arbitrary), drive an hour or so to the trailhead (which is conveniently located by the Montebello Fish Hatchery), hike to the top, bask in the glory of our world, and mosey on down. Then, we’ll drive back and get home around 9-9:15ish.
