OVERVIEW

If acting on your primal instincts of making fire, cooking meat, running around in the ocean, and chasing crabs sounds like a good time then this trip is for you!!!

We are going to Assateague Island National Seashore to camp right on the beach for a few days! This will be a very loosely planned trip, letting our urges decide what we do from hour to hour. Our hopes and dreams consist of crabbing, running around the beach like idiots, watching me attempt to catch fish with my hands, build fires, watch the sunset/sunrise over the ocean, find wild horses, and roast glizzies over the fire all under the stars. Once we figure out who’s going we can bring additional gear/make plans accordingly based on interest.

Our very loose itinerary:

The drive to Assateague is just about 5 hours and we plan on taking the southern route through Richmond and Norfolk up into Maryland.

Tuesday
7AM – leave cville
stop for breakfast during the drive (maybe in Williamsburg or Norfolk)
12PM – check into campsite
DO WHATEVER THE HELL WE WANT!
sunset + fire + glizzies
stargazing

Wednesday
ocean sunrise!
DO WHATEVER THE HELL WE WANT!!!!!!!!!!
sunset + fire + glizzies again!!
stargazing again!!!!

Thursday
ocean sunrise again!
11AM – check out of campsite
stop for breakfast/lunch
5PM – back in cville

As of now we are planning on taking my car which can fit four people total (me, gabriel, and two of you lovelies), along with our respective camping stuff and hopefully some SUPs. With this setup we are asking people to pack lightly (aka one backpack worth of stuff per person), which should be manageable for just a two day trip. This situation could change if someone were to sign up and is willing to drive with a large SUV/truck/minivan, allowing us to bring more gear, SUPs, and other fun stuff to do. With my car ideally we bring two tents and have two in each, which more could be brought if we have a larger vehicle.

As this trip is not during the school year, we have restrictions when it comes to reimbursements. The beach campsite is $15 per person along with money needed for collective food supply/firewood, so you’ll want to bring a little bit of spending money for our time there.

If you have a big vehicle and are willing to drive you will get priority off the waitlist and it means we can potentially bring more people and gear!!! 😀

Things you bring:
– Appropriate clothing for two days (swimwear, sandals, etc.)
– Camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad if you want)
– Sunscreen and BUG SPRAY!!
– Stuff for any activities you want
– Chair for sittin

Things we bring:
– SUPs/PFDs
– Cooking stuff
– Vibes

Things we will collectively buy when there:
– Food
– Firewood
– Crabbing bait

If you have any questions at all about the trip don’t hesitate to send one of us a text!
