New Cabell Hall
Somewhere at UVa, probably AFC
Long (say 15-17 mile) day hike on the Appalachian Trail in Shenandoah Nat’l Park. Start time is quite flexible–personally speaking, the earlier the better. Which trail segment we will do is by consensus of participants. In the event that by Friday evening Sunday’s forecast still calls for rain, we will step the trip back to Saturday. How long the trip will last will depend on the capacities of those hiking and/or individual schedule needs. –Again, be aware that this will be a pretty brisk-paced 17 miles or so the good Lord willing & the creek don’t rise.
Meeting place: We will meet at the front steps of New Cabell Hall where it gives out onto Jefferson Pkwy.
Outdoors at UVa provides:
Gas money, entrance passes to Shenandoah Nat’l Park
You must bring:
I have room for three people in my car. If more than three people sign up, more cars will have to be forthcoming. & of course bring your daypacks with plenty of fluids & trailgrub.
