Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Three Ridges
Lots of scenic views to be had on this 13.1 mile circuit in the gorgeous three ridges wilderness. We’ll hike in a couple miles friday evening and sleep at the Maupin Field Shelter. Saturday’s hike will be spent atop the ridges for 6 miles with some moderate elevation changes. We can have lunch at Chimney Rocks after about 4 miles. We’ll descend the ridge and camp for a night at Harper Creek Shelter. After a day of moderate hiking, we’ll still have energy for some potentially raucous fun. Bring your harmonica! We’ll finish the circuit on Sunday with a last 5 mile leg.
This trip will be co-led by Ryan Gilchrist and Kelli Nash.
The club has backpacks, sleeping bags and pads, food, and all the essentials for cooking and purifying water. Bring a container to hold at least 2 liters of water. If you drive, the club will reimburse for gas plus 30% for car wear.
The trip is set to 5 people to fit in one car, but if lots of people sign up, we’ll add you from the waitlist and take another car.
