Bonnycastle Circle
McAfee Knob
McAfee Knob and Tinker Cliffs have some of the best views on the Appalachian Trail. This section of the AT will give us amazing 360 degree views of forested valleys near Roanoke, just turning green with the first signs of spring. Come enjoy the views with fellow outdoorsy-folk, learn some basic backcountry cooking, and scramble around on the rocky outcrops on the tops of these beautiful and renowned Virginia mountains. The mileage per day will not be overly strenuous (probably 7 on average), so come play! If anything, you’ll be able to tell folks you’ve climbed a Dragon’s Tooth – pretty badass if you ask me! I will restrict the trip to waitlist only and add attendees as drivers sign up.
