Corner Of Echols Dorm
Your Comfy Bed
Belle Isle, Richmond, VA, USA
Hey you!!
I can’t think of a better thing to do on a Sunday morning than some outdoor climbing!! Manchester Wall is a pretty cool “urban crag” on the banks of the James River in Richmond with a variety of bolted climbing routes that ascend some old railroad trestles. Come check it out with us for a day of epic climbs, hanging out at the river and possibly learning a thing or two.
Climbing experience is not required for this trip, however, those with some top-roping experience who are eager to learn more will get priority off of the waitlist. We will hopefully teach anyone that wants to learn how to top-rope belay. Depending on everyone’s level of experience and timing there may also be opportunities for people to learn to lead climb, lead belay and clean sport routes if they’re interested!!!
We’ll meet at Echols at 9:00 am, drive about an hour to Richmond, and climb until around 4 pm. After that, depending on what everyone’s up for we can grab food, and head home. We’ll aim to be back no later than 6, though I imagine it will be earlier.
