Beach Camping at First Landing State Park

OVERVIEW

Hey there! This Friday night, I’ll be camping at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach, which is about 2hrs 45mins from Charlottesville. We will be leaving at 2:00 pm on Friday from Lambeth apartments and returning at some point on Saturday night – whenever we get tired of hiking/swimming/chillaxing on the beach there.

The cost of the trip is $10, for the campsite fee. Our campsite can host 4 people. Note that ODC has a lodging reimbursement fee up to $10, so you should get this money back at some point in the near future (I covered the cost of the site in the meantime). You may also want to bring some money for food – I plan on bringing food for us to cook Friday night, Saturday morning, and some stuff for Saturday afternoon.

My pal Tristan Williams has generously agreed to drive to the park. As he well knows, gas is reimbursed along with a 50% tip up to $20.

What I’m bringing:
-tent
-food
-spikeball set

What you need:
-sleeping bag / sleeping pad
-beach appropriate clothing
-water!!! 2L (there’s a place to fill up water bottles at the campsite)
-$$$, not too much but a bit is good to have

If you are going to have trouble acquiring any of this please let me know and I can get it for you. This should be a fairly easy trip as we are staying at a campsite and only staying for one night, hence I have not provided tooooo many details, but please reach out with any questions. Let’s go!
