Bear Church Rock, Saturday Hike

OVERVIEW

Up for getting in a hike before Thanksgiving break this Saturday?

I will be leading a hike to Bear Church Rock departing at 8:30 AM. We will depart from Echols Dorm Brick Wall.

This 8.5 mile hike to the top of Bear Church Rock starts at the Rapidan River, then hugs the Staunton River, before finally venturing a steep climb up to the summit, where we’ll enjoy a full panoramic overlook of the mountains. High temperature is predicted to be in the mid-40s!! BRING LAYERS!

Hike should take around 4 hours, plus lunch. Drive is a little over an hour. Should be back by 3.

This trip is for up to 6 people + me (I will drive my van).

Bring:
– athletic/hiking shoes
– water (2 liters)
– snacks and lunch
– WARM CLOTHES IN LAYERS!
– hat / gloves / extra socks if needed
