Corner Of Echols Dorm
Shenandoah National Park
I wanted to go camping this weekend, but didn’t plan it because I expected it to be raining right now. It is certainly not raining. Rather, it is beautiful outside, and the air looking down from mountains might be clearer from last night’s a-cleansin.
I’m going to go hike and camp in SNP as soon as possible. I’m not sure what site, but I have a good map. If I hear from people who want to come before 2:30, you’re more then welcome to join me.
The plan: Leave soon, while it is sunny, grab Teeter-dogs and pbj, drive up to SNP. Hike a little ways up a trail, ’til the sun starts setting, pitch a tent and tell ghost stories. Sleep soundly. Hike around tomorrow if the sun still shines, come home if the thunder started in the night.
What you need to bring:
Wear hiking clothes and shoes, but have rain/ warm gear stuffed in a backpack. I suggest extra socks. Bring a pan and a mug and a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad if you have these things.
There isn’t really a fee. Just have a little cash on hand because we’re going to make a swing by Teeter.
