OVERVIEW

Hello my fellow outdoor friends!! I hope everyone’s first week of classes went well (and more importantly that no one was swamped with too much homework this early in the semester). This weekend Nathan and I will be leading a beginner backpacking trip down to Mt. Pleasant. This trip is designed for people who have never been backpacking before and want to learn. If you don’t even know how backpacking works but want to try, this is your trip. SIGN UP! Everything minus clothes and shoes you can borrow from the gear room so there should be no barrier to entry. If you have any worries but still want to go, sign up and shoot us a text (our numbers are at the bottom of the page).

The hike round trip is only 5.5 miles with the plan to hike about 3 miles each day. Drivers will have priority on the trip. Also there is a link attached below that outlines the hike if anyone wants to look at the deets!

Friday 9/6:
1:30 PM: Meet at corner of echols to load cars
3:00: Arrive at Trailhead
3:15: Start hiking
Sometime after 4:45: Find a camping spot that we like and then enjoy the beautiful evening in the woods (with an awesome view!)
Saturday 9/7:
8am (very subjective and is open to change): Wake up and hike back to the car
Around 10-11: Get back to the car
Around 1: Get back to cville (and maybe stop for lunch??)
