Beginner Hiking @ Duncan Knob – 10/28

OVERVIEW

This weekend I’m headed out to Duncan Knob to take advantage of our last weekend at peak fall coloring while the views are still spectacular. It’s a 3.6 mile out and back with some rock scrambling on the way to the top and some supposedly great 360 views of the valley at the top. I’m looking to get two drivers so anyone with a car gets priority off the waitlist plus reimbursement + 50% tip on gas.

Schedule:
10:00 – Leave from Echols
11:30 – Arrive at the trailhead
12:30 – Reach the peak and eat lunch plus take in the view
1:30 – Begin descending from the peak
2:30 – Finish hike
4:00 – Return to Cville

What to bring:
– Water
– Packed lunch and snacks
– Shoes with good traction for the rock scrambles
– Probably pack a jacket in case it’s windy at the peak (weather is going to be ~70 F)

P.S. I tried running this trip last week but couldn’t get a driver, so priority off the waitlist will also go to the people who had signed up for that one but I had to cancel on last minute
