Howdy folks,
I’m sick and tired of waiting for good weather, so I’m packing up and heading for the hills of Shenandoah National Park next weekend–rain or shine. Come join. I need an escape from the great indoors to the greater still outdoors. Approx. 12 miles/2 days
The plan?
Leave Saturday, June 2 @9am from Echols Brick Wall
Arrive at SNP, park and hike 5.8 miles, set up camp and lounge/explore/cook/chill
Spend the night, get up the next AM and hike 6.2 milesand leave, be back in Cville around 12pm Sunday, maybe earlier
You bring:
– Backpack
– Shelter (tent, hammock, bivy/tarp)
– Sleeping Bag
– Sleeping Pad
– Rain gear (rain clothes/pack cover)
– Food setup (food items/stove/fuel/mess kit/utensil)
– Water setup (2-4 liter capacity- I have a water filter system I can share if you don’t have anything!)
– Essentials (headlamp, warm layers, system to pack out trash, etc)
-FOOD- enough for yourself for two-ish days
-hiking boots/sturdy shoes
I bring: Group first aid kit, maps, water filter
Gear is available from the gear room.
Drivers (Reimbursed for gas+ 50%tip) and SNP Pass holders have priority
