OVERVIEW

PLEASE IGNORE ANDREW CASSIDY’S TRIP
**everyone signed up will get preference in the order that they signed up. that trip is now void and this is how everything is going to work…Sorry for the confusion

I am heading up to the NRG on Friday to paddle, but i want to take beginners/intermediates out to SAndstonia Sunday! So if you are on Dave Clark’s trip and are heading up on Friday, stay on it so he can account for you (food and rides), but if you just want to climb on Sunday, Ryan elliot (former officer) will be meeting you at echols at 6pm on Saturday. I will email out about cars ahead of time and get you directions to the Rays campground. Please pack a dinner with you or stop on the way there saturday.

I will be providing your food sunday (breakfast and lunch), gas, camping fee, and instructions.

Your food will include oatmeal or cereal and fruit in the morning, and trail mix, pb and J or hummus, and some other lunch food i decide. Bring your own gatorade, clif bars, and other snacks if you want. Also, we will be stopping at quiznos on the way home and you will need money if you want it!

We will be camping Saturday and climbing sunday and then heading home sunday evening. So you will need:

–Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, headlamp
–rain gear, warm sleeping clothes (hat and gloves could be necessary) and climbing clothes (yoga pants or shorts, T-shirt but also bring a rain jacket in case), toiletries (there is a bathroom)
–tennis shoes and shoe for the crag
-harness, atc or grigri, shoes, chalk in chalk bag
– a backpack to put it in, water bottles (for atleast 2 liters), rain cover!

Note that i have put lots of RAIN stuff on here becuase the forecast is looking like poopies right now. If this is the case on friday, i will probably be canceling the trip as there are not many places that beginners can go when it’s raining (all very steep and such).

Requirements:

Get your own: shoes, harness, chalk bag, atc, and if you so desire a helment from gear room. Also, please check out a tent, sleeping bag, pad, headlamp, backpack, and raincover if you don’t have them. let me know if you can’t make gear room this week.

Loose Requirements:

Know how to top rope belay—belayers will get preference
Top Rope 5.7

We Provide:
Ropes, quickdraws, a safe climbing experience
