Beginner ISUP Maintenance

OVERVIEW

I love water sports, you love water sports, we all love watersports!! But we wouldn’t be able to enjoy such amazing activities without our fabulous ISUPs (Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboards). Unfortunately these amazing boards that treat us so well are looking a bit rough around the edges, so Anusha and I wanted to lead a beginner friendly trip on maintenance and care for the boards. This trip will focus on inflating all the boards, cleaning up gunk and residue and identifying what is missing and problematic on each board. Additionally we will go through all the pumps and check for defects such as cracked O rings and seals. After a good cleaning and drying and maintenance list we can discuss possible solutions on how to fix problems like boards missing handles and fins, reattaching D rings, and patching any holes! We also will be discussing better ways to systematically maintain and store the boards in the future.

This will most likely be a 2 part endeavor whilst we order necessary components so look out for a part 2 to this in the future where the actual patching and fixing will take place!

The plan:
Meet at the Shrack around 12:00 pm and start inflating
1:00 – Start cleaning and identifying problems
2:30 – Begin deflating and packing up (also clean up the shed)
3:00 – Wrap up / discuss future steps
