OVERVIEW

Hi Everyone,

Max and I are back with another beginner MTB trip, this time on a Wednesday. This will probably be the only beginner trip from me this week (none on Sunday because of Fall break), but I’ll be back next week to wear out your leg muscles. I had a lot of fun with the beginner trip over the Walnut Creek trip, but Ohill provides those excellent climbs and even better downhills as opposed to the flatter Walnut Creek area, so I’m stoked to get you all back on your hill climbing game.

With the free access to mountain bikes and a great hill with a range of trail difficulties, we have an excellent situation for you to learn mountain biking. We have a nice beginner trail picked out, but we have some flexibility depending on how everyone is feeling. We will be going slow and taking lots of breaks, this trip is focused on learning how to mountain bike not testing physical limits.

If you don’t have your own mountain bike or helmet, let me know on the trip questionnaire and we’ll try to secure you a club bike/helmet. Everyone will be waitlisted for this trip initially and depending on bike availability individuals will be taken off the wait list accordingly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me (434-270-1818).

What you need:
– Water (Either a bottle that will fit in a bottle cage, or bring a small backpack/hip pack to hold it)
– Gloves (optional)
– Closed-toe shoes
– Weather appropriate clothing

What the club will provide:
– Bikes
– Helmets

The plan:
4:50/5:00pm- meet at the shred shack a grab a bike for everyone
5:30pm- Ride up O-hill
7:15pm- back at the shred shack

The timing on the plan is pretty flexible to how people are feeling after some biking, we can always end early if people are tired.
