This is going to be a short trip for those who need two things:
1. A study break
2. An introduction to rock climbing
This is a beginner/introduction to climbing course where I will teach all the basics of rock climbing (harnesses, tying in, belaying, safety, and basic climbing technique). So if you’ve never climbed before or if you’ve climbed a few times but are a little rusty than sign up.
Destination: Raven’s Roost, VA – About a half hour from Grounds. This is a convenient spot with easy access and beautiful views.
What to wear: Dress comfortably. The current forecast says it will be in the 70’s with a chance of rain. Wear closed toed shoes (no-flip flops) and bring a rain jacket. Because of the rain we may have to cancel, but are hoping not to. The decision will be made on Sunday morning by 8:30am. If it is damp we will still go out, teach the basics, and potentially do a rappel.
What to bring: Backpack, 2 liters of water, snacks/food, camera, sunscreen
Everyone will go to the waitlist at first. I will join people to the trip as I get drivers.
