OVERVIEW

DO YOU WANT TO GO RAFTING? I WANT TO GO RAFTING.

Let’s do a lap on the Lower James. The Lower James is a great first time rafting trip, we’ll hit some class 2 and class 3 rapids. I will talk you all through basic river safety and all I ask is that you know how to swim & bring some great vibes. We’ll be out near Sarah & George’s kayaking trip, and we’ll also see Josephine out there rafting her own group. The lower section (III) through Richmond (https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/view/river-detail/1952/main).

What To Bring:
-clothes and shoes that can get wet and are good in moving water (nothing really loose, nothing that’s easy to pull off)
-a change of clothes for after
-towel
-bag for wet stuff
-some water

What The Club Provides:
-raft
-paddle
-helmet
-pfd

In order for this trip to run we’ll need drivers, at least one car needs space for a raft. Drivers will receive waitlist priority, gas reimbursed plus tip up to $20.

Notice – Whitewater sports are inherently dangerous. We lead trips at a level where we feel confident about our ability to keep people on our trip safe. Your safety also depends on you and your honest communication of your abilities and state of being, as well as respect towards any safety advice. It is a requirement to know how to swim to attend this trip.
