Belayer? I hardly know her! (Intro belay workshop)

OVERVIEW

Do you want to know how to belay? that’s a silly question, of course you do. Come sign up for this trip where I will teach you some climbing basics and you’ll get some hands on practice!

You will learn:
– the difference between an ATC and a grigri
– how to tie in to a rope as a climber
– how to do pre-climb checks and communication
– basic PBUS belay technique

You bring:
– water
– weather-appropriate clothes (we’ll be staying outside in the backyard of the shred shack)

I bring:
– some belay devices and rope
– some harnesses for practice

Schedule:
– 5:30 I demo the basics
– 5:45 practice time
– 6:22 sunset happens as we’re wrapping up
