Big Meadows Star Gazing

OVERVIEW

No Sam Clinard = No Full Moon :(. But that hopefully means we’ll see more stars!

If you need some quality time to contemplate life or just need to space out (hah, hope you got that) a little, come stargaze with us! We’ll head out to Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park – it’s this big grassy field that attracts the most experienced, shredly, and hardcore stargazers from all over the world every year. True fax. Did I also mention I’m 6 feet tall?

It’s a new moon so they sky will hopefully be clear and full of twinkly lights. Plenty of wish-making opportunities for those who need a little magic in their lives after the first week of school.

The Deetz:
-Leave ODC House at 9:30 PM
-Grab some grub/snackies on the way
-Drive ~1 hr 15ish to Big Meadows
-Lay out our blankets, cuddle puddle, watch some stars, make some wishes, see some aliens, etc
-Head out around ~1:00ish & drive back to Cville
-Snuggle up in our cozy beds

To Bring:
-headlamp
-A layer or two (especially if you get cols easily, like me)
-Something to sit/lay on (blankets, sleeping bags, tarps, foldout chairs, your friends)
-water/hot, comforting beverages
-a cup/mug (there *may* be some hot chocolate in your future)
-$$ if you want snackies
-a speaker? if you want some chill, stargazing tunes
-a constellation app/star chart? if you want to actually know whats up there

Drivers needed! Drivers get priority off the waitlist, gas reimbursed, and a 50% tip. Please show up at the ODC House with a full tank.

**Don’t think we’ll need them per say, but priority will be given to those with a Shenandoah National Park Pass. We’ll shoot for at least 1 pass per car.
