OVERVIEW

Biking is fun. Getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with a hunk of metal that doesn’t move anymore isn’t. Come out to Echols Dorm this Wednesday to learn how to beat your bike back into line when it decides to stop working. We’ll meet at the normal spot for gear rooms, then move over to the grass for the class.

This class will cover basic maintenance (the bare essentials to keep your bike from breaking down) and emergency fixes (the best ways to fix the most common problems you’re likely to encounter on a trail or road ride. If you have a bike with problems, feel free to bring it and it might (or might not) get fixed. If you don’t have a broken bike, you don’t need to bring anything with you for this class.

Look out for more classes in this series. I’m planning to do:

1) Maintenance
2) Active Safety – Traffic and Trails
3) Road Handling Skills
4) Mountain Handling Skills
5) Mountain Handling Skills 2

Talk to me if you have any suggestions for other classes or if you’re interested in leading a mountain bike trip.
