BIKE TO CREEKATHON instead of using a car like a bozo????

Hello, Creekathon is upon us, and YOU were probably thinking about taking a car to get there; however, I think YOU are silly and in need of an attitude adjustment. Walnut Creek Park is a mere 10ish miles away from UVa lands (on bike), which is not that far at all! Thus, I propose, five brave club members join wheels with me in arriving to Creekathon in style, on a bike. Here is what I’m thinkin: 10 mile bike ride on pretty roads == just over 1 hour of biking == avg 10 mph ==a fun time. Pretty simple I think.

For this trip, I HIGHLY recommend you use a road bike. A club mountain bike will be slow and tiring and better used on fun soil and rocks. Additionally, we will be passing through some high traffic areas at times so I also highly recommend having some road biking on the road with cars experience. That all being said — priority will be given to folks who have this experience. Sadly, the club does not have road bikes for you to borrow (I know!!! how silly!!! yell at phillip!!!!!). Also, since we are biking there, I was going to bike back as well. If you don’t want to, that is YOUR responsibility to figure out; all im saying is, it would be much easier to just bike back. Because of this, you can kinda leave whenever you want, but it would be cool if we went back as a group or whatever. If you have a lot of stuff to bring to creekathon that you do not want to bike with, we can try to work something out with the drivers.

Extra tubes for your bike
your freaking road bike
lightweight, energy dense snacks
anything you will need for creekathon adventures
helmet (club has these)
