Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
White Oak Canyon Trail
Happy Birthday National Parks! Let’s celebrate more successfully than these people: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0jO30tIje0
In honor of the NPS Centennial, I thought it appropriate to head up to Shenandoah this weekend. Admission fees to get into the park are waived! We’ll be hiking the White Oak Canyon Trail to go find this awesome natural water slide: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-4YYr6RT7w)
It’ll be a hot day, so I definitely plan on jumping into the refreshing mountain water.
Plan is to leave from Echols dorm brick wall on Saturday morning at 8:00AM. Takes about 1.5 hours to get to the trailhead. Hit the trail about 9:30, hike for about four hours and break for lunch and swimming, then head back. Plan to be back at UVA around 4:00.
WHAT YOU NEED:
-Water (2L)
-Sturdy shoes for hiking
-Clothes to get wet
-Towel
-Lunch + snacks
I’ll cap the trip at 5 for now until more drivers sign up. Drivers get gas reimbursed and priority on the waitlist.
Happy trails, happy males, happy females, happy snails, happy tales.
