Blackrock Summit Sunset Hangout

OVERVIEW

If you’re like me and love watching sunsets from mountaintops but don’t love steep climbs up to see it, this hike is for you. It’s a short (< 1 mile) relaxing hike to the summit with a little rock scramble at the summit. Where we'll hangout, jam out, and catch that beauty of a fall sunset. And because I'm feeling extra festive this week, I will be bringing some donuts straight from our very own Carter's Mountain for everyone on the trip. Snacks and good tunes are more than welcome if you've got them! The Deets: If you're early you're on time, and if you're on time you're late for a sunset. So please try to be at Echols a little earlier so we can leave right at 4:45 and avoid a nice trail sprint to catch the sunset. We should hit the trail head at 5:45 and make the ~20 min hike up with plenty of time to catch the sunset. We'll hangout for a bit, eat a donut (or two?) and then head back down to the cars to be back in Cville by around 8. What to bring: -Water -Layers, Layers, Layers -Good shoes -Musical instrument/speaker if you have one -Headlamp for the hike down -Snacks for yourself or to share if you're feeling extra caring -$5 in case we don't have someone other than me with an SNP pass More info on the hike here: https://www.nps.gov/shen/blackrock-summit.htm DRIVERS NEEDED!!! I can only take 4 people in my car until I get another driver for the trip. Drivers get reimbursed for gas plus 50% tip and my undying gratitude (sounds like a good deal if you ask me). Please come to Echols with a full tank of gas so we don't have to stop on the way there.
