OVERVIEW

On Saturday, 1/10, Coastal Canoeists presents the annual Boats and Brews Film Festival. The title says it all: “Boats”, “Brews”, and “Film”; 3 of my favorite things! Throw in a float down the James before the gig starts (5:30) and you have the makings of a perfect day. Join me! For more info about the event check out the following links:

As for paddling, my plan is to put on the lower section at around 3:30 for an ~1.5 hour float, though I might run the upper section too. To join me on the upper section you must have taken the intro class with me or have similar experience, and have paddled at least class 1 rapids. To join me on the lower section you must have the qualifications for the upper section plus have lots of prior river experience in at least class 3 rapids, and have a decent flat water roll. So that I can screen your experience you will be added to the waitlist upon joining, then I will move you to the trip list if you are qualified. If you have any questions please contact me via email at dclark@virginia.edu or cell at (434) 962-9737.
If you’re not interested in paddling but want to come out for the film festival, that’s cool! We can coordinate separate carpooling.
