Boone, Nc Spring Mega Trip **Carpool**

OVERVIEW

Happy Spring! Time to get yo butts outside

Please read this trip description in its entirety. This is only a carpool, and you must sign up for side trip(s) as they are posted in order to join the carpool.

WHAT:
A NRGE style spring mega trip full of hiking, mountain biking, climbing, paddling, and other shenanigans! Attendees send it/shred “the gnar” on side adventures (posted on our website as official ODC trips beforehand) throughout the weekend, and we all reconvene at camp in the evening for some qualityyyy campfire time.

WHERE:
Boone, NC! We will be staying at a group site at Grandfather Campground approximately 4.5 hours away (just a tad farther than the New River Gorge)
(http://www.grandfatherrv.com/map-of-grounds/). The Campsite is nestled in the Blue Ridge surrounded by Cherokee AND Pisgah National Forests AND Grandfather AND Elk Knob State parks AND on the banks of the Watauga River.

WHEN: Friday April 12th- Sunday April 14th

GETTING THERE:
The main carpool will leave Friday 4/12 at 4pm from Echols with cars potentially leaving earlier/later in the day. People are encouraged to post trips for Friday and head down Friday morning. Cars will be heading back to Charlottesville throughout the day on Sunday.

Drivers we need you!!! You will be reimbursed for gas and are basically guaranteed a $20 tip!

GEAR:
You are responsible for checking our your own sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and headlamp from the gear room the week before the trip. I will bring the club’s supply of tents and distribute them at the campsite.
If you have your own camping gear please bring it!
You must bring warm layers and rain gear. The temperatures will most likely be colder than Charlottesville because we will be in the mountains.

FOOD:
You are responsible for your own food for this weekend. The club will provide pizza for dinner on Saturday night 🙂 Bring munchies and money.
