OVERVIEW

Friday: Leave Charlottesville at around 6:30 drive two hours to McAfees Knob then hike 1.5 hours (3.5 miles) in the dark to 3000 feet elevation (lows in the upper 30s so dress warm!!!!) We should be getting to bed around 11.

Saturday: Wake up to the beautiful fall leaves and sunrise then climb all day. Probably get back to Charlottesville around 7 to 8.

You Provide:
– Eating Utensils
– Hiking shoes/Boats
– Climbing shoes
– Warm clothing
– Plenty of water.. (seriously though there might not be anything to filter once we get up there)

We Provide (Some stuff pending you can get into gear room (we missed tuesday and wednesday gear rooms)):
– Food
– Gas
– Tents
– Bouldering Pads
– Backpack if you need it

Requirements:
– Have been bouldering before (no newbies but people who can only climb V0s and V1s are welcome). Also if you don’t like hiking this isn’t the trip for you (the hike up there is strenuous). If you don’t plan on climbing for at least 4 or 5 hours and waking up early on Saturday this probably isn’t the trip for you either.

To get stoked on McAfees check out this photo Ken Tran took: http://www.mountainproject.com/images/90/52/107229052_large_1b5690.jpg

McAfees is described by the virginia, west virginia, maryland guidebook as the Hueco Tanks of Virginia. It definitely isn’t comparable but once you get up to the top it is littered with boulders all a short distance from each other: check out the problems here: http://www.mountainproject.com/v/mcafees-knob/105922668

Everyone will be waistlisted until we figure out drivers and such
