This is a Whitewater Kayakin (and possibly rafting) trip to the New River Gorge in WV for the Bridge Day Festival, and we will attempt to get the best seats in the house for viewing the Bridge Day jumpers – which would be on the river below the bridge!
Official Bridge Day info here: http://www.officialbridgeday.com

River shuttle will be set Friday Night.
Saturday: Camping at Ray’s Friday night, Launching on the NRG by 10 AM – then we will boogie down to Fayette Station eat lunch and watch the jumpers till 5 PM (or whenever they reopen the roads).
Sunday: No plan… I’ll likely be paddling, the NRG is an option, and it’s the last scheduled Gauley release (just sayin). There’s also dryland stuff you can do nearby.

There MAY be limited space available on private rafts – indicate in the Q&A if you wish to get on a raft. Minimum skills required is ability to swim, and desire to get wet! Don’t forget to tip your guide!

DISCLAIMER/LEGAL: I am NOT “leading” on any of these rivers, I am only coordinating some logistics and transportation to the river, you are responsible for your own safety and the activities you choose to participate in while on this trip, and you agree to have read and will abide by the American Whitewater Safety Code http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Wiki/safety:start?
Those with the appropriate skills may join me as “Common Adventurers”

The NRG is an Intermediate-Advanced run, Everyone gets waitlisted till I screen your skills, which should include: Reliable combat roll and/or stellar bracing/leaning skills such that you don’t have to roll.

I’ll pick up lunch fixins for both days, But I plan to eat out breakfast/dinner on both days, so bring $ for that – or if you wish to procure your own food let me know, and then by all means do so (save receipts).

We’ll camp at Ray’s Campground, club has your camp fees covered.

Club Provides: Boats & Gear if you need them, Ga$, Camping Gear

You Provide: Any paddling and camping gear you already have, Non-cotton layers for on/off the river. Bring your own Dinner or $ to procure it.
