OVERVIEW

Man, I have wanted to ride BRS since Phillip’s post way back in May, but whether it was due to scheduling conflicts or weather conditions, I never got around to it. So here I am, taking matters into my own hands, leading my first “big boy” trip after some prompting from my trusty co-leader Mas S. I’ve heard amazing things from everyone that’s ridden here so I couldn’t be more excited to finally satisfy my itch.

The Blue Ridge School is only a ~30-minute drive from Charlottesville and in the words of our great father Phillip, “If you think O’Hill, Ragged, or Preddy are awesome, the Blue Ridge School will blow your mind”. The plan is to ride 15 miles with 2800 ft of climbing but as always, we can play it by ear and make adjustments as the group sees fit. WE WANT YOU ON THESE TRIPS! (Shoutout Tiffany) From my understanding, while there are some challenging sections, they have ride-around options. So while this will be a challenging ride, there’s fun for everyone even on the occasional ride around. Also, don’t feel bad if you have to hike a bike, we all do at times! (Ik I will)

What you bring:
– water (2L): each bike has a bottle cage. We recommend wearing a backpack (not your school bag) with water/food, if you don’t have one, let us know or stop by a gear room for one (we know this is a late post to swing by a gear room so we can grab stuff if you really need it)
– snacks/little lunch
– a way to carry your water and snacks (backpack recommended (club has backpacks and hip packs as well), see above)
– gloves (even cheap work gloves work wonders)
– weather-appropriate clothing (keep checking the weather, it might get chilly (bring layers). No loose pants!)
– closed-toe shoes (flat-bottomed shoes, think vans)

What we provide:
– bikes
– helmets
– all the other bike goodies such as racks and tools

**I have a car and can take 4 people/bikes in total, we’d love to think about taking more people so if you have a car with bike-carrying abilities please let us know on the trip questionnaire. Drivers get gas reimbursed + 50% tip!**

Please please reach out to either of us with any questions! (you can find our numbers by clicking on our profiles)

*As you can probably tell, this description has heavy influence from previous trips led by Phillip, Bryson, and Max T so big shoutout to them!*
