Calling the Calvary (to hike Calvary)

OVERVIEW

Hey y’all! With my work finally taking a down turn in its quantity and the weather making an upturn, I figure it’s high time to hit up SNP for a nice little mid-day hikey hike. The goal is drive in a car (sad) then arrive at the trail head, leave society behind and embrace nature and hopefully see some good views. It’s listed as moderate but I don’t plan on moving too quick (gotta enjoy reprieve from school for as long as possible yk) so beginners feel free to sign up. Here’s the nitty-gritty details:
– 3.2 miles out and back
– 800 ft elevation
– Alltrails says about 2 hrs to complete but I’ll budget about 2.25-2.5
And the schedule:

12:00 : Meet outside echols and pack into a vehicle
1:00 PM : Arrive at the trail head and hit the trail
3:15-3:30 PM : Return to the vehicle and pack in once again
4:15-4:30 PM : Arrive once more in Charlottesville

To Bring:
– Hiking shoes
– Water
– Snacks if you so desire
– Layers as it will still be cold and probably windy
– Song recs for the car ride

No driver’s needed/ no park passes needed for this one.
