Corner of Echols
Also Corner of Echols Dorm
Riprap Trail Parking, Grottoes, VA, USA
I want to try and get at least one trip to shenandoah in before winter returns in full force because apparently it might snow again next week? In any case I figure it’s worth a shot to try and go this sunday when it’s supposed to be a little warmer so I have something to distract myself from the fact that it’s another eagles chiefs super bowl. This 3.4 mile trail has some really nice views and is moderate without having any super steep sections, which is important because I don’t know exactly what conditions will be like on sunday. If we decide things aren’t worth the risk or the trail is closed for some reason we will channel patrick mahomes and call an audible.
Here’s the plan:
10:00 meet at echols
11:10 arrive at riprap trailhead
12:00 arrive rocks
12:30 Depart rocks
1:10 Back at trailhead
2:00 Back at Echols
Unfortunately I do not have a car so drivers are needed! If you have a car you will get priority and will also be eligible for gas reimbursement if you arrive at Echols with a full tank of gas. I will add more people to this trip if we get multiple drivers.
I have an America the Beautiful national parks pass that will cover one car with up to five people, so if you have a parks pass you will ALSO get priority off the waitlist.
