Calvary and Chimney Rocks Afternoon Hike

OVERVIEW

(At least as of writing this) the weather next Wednesday is looking awesome (60 and sunny) so come with us to hike some of the Riprap Trail in Shenandoah! It’s a 3.2 mile out and back. We’ll head up to a beautiful lookout and then back down to the parking lot. There’s some uphill but it’s not too crazy and the views are 100% worth it!

DRIVERS NEEDED – if you get to echols with a full tank gas is reimbursed + a 50% tip up to 20$. Drivers will get priority off the waitlist!

The plan:
2:00 – Meet at Echols and head out to the trail once everyone’s arrived
3:15 – Arrive at the trailhead and start hiking!
about 3:45 (depending on our pace): arrive back at the car and head back to UVA
some time around 5:30-6:00: Back at grounds!

You bring:
yourself
enough water to get through a 3 mile hike with some hills
hiking clothes and shoes
snacks!

I bring:
the same things
a first aid kit + some extra snacks

I’ve got a Shenandoah park pass so if we’re only one car we don’t need any extra. If we get two drivers and enough interest for two cars though we’ll need another pass and pass holders will get priority off the waitlist. This is also a very beginner friendly hike, so newer members and hikers will get priority off the waitlist!
