**Cancelled: Hand Warmers, Hot Cocoa, & Vistas: Blackrock Sunrise

OVERVIEW

** this trip has been CANCELLED due to Skyline Drive (the highway we need to take to get to the trailhead) being closed!! I’ve already tried to reschedule once but it looks like the weather ain’t on our side this round. Once the weather clears up this spring, I will be trying this trip again so keep an eye out, but for now, I’m calling it. My apologies and keep sending it dudes!

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:
So I’ve been a trip leader for 2+ months and have yet to lead a trip with you lovely humans (you can bust my butt about slacking on my duties if you come on the trip, how bout dat), so I figured I’d start easy with a nice sunrise stroll to Blackrock Summit. I’ve been aching to get out in Ol’ mother nature without the exertion of a hard hike, so join me for some cocoa, fresh air, and a fan-freaking-tastic Shenandoah sunrise (I’ll be providing the hot cocoa at the top)!!!

The plan:
Leave from Grounds at 5:15 am (meet @Echols), drive ~1 hour to the trailhead, hike an easy (although chilly) mile to the summit, catch a true Shenandoah sunrise at 7:23 am while sippin’ some steamy hot cocoa, and hopefully arrive back around 9 am!

Bring:
Agua
Good shoes
Layers (it’ll be a chilly one)
flashlight/headlamp
Snacks
SNP or 5$ if nobody has one
Bright and early attitudes!!
**I’ll bring some handwarmers but if you have any, bring them

Drivers are very needed and much appreciated (both in grateful hugs from me and also you get reimbursed for gas + 50% tip). Please show up with a full tank of gas!!!
