*Cancelled* Hawksbill Sunrise – for My Sanity

OVERVIEW

*Sorry to everyone who signed up, but I couldn’t get any drivers for the trip so I will have to cancel. Hope to see you all soon!*

Well after (most of) round one of exams and a busy schedule (which all of you UVA chronic overachievers have), the Eschool has got me down in the dumps and craving adventure. It just so happens that two of my tuesday classes got canceled and I figured, what better way to spend my time than to not catch up on sleep?

Which is why we are going to get up bright and early to catch a beautiful Hawksbill sunrise. It is a relatively relaxed 2 mile total with a beautiful view. In general I like to take my time and I am not on any time schedule so I intend to hike at a pretty moderate pace, get there a little early, and spend lots of time on the summit.

The Plan:

-4:30 am Depart from the Student Activities Building Parking Lot
-6 am Get to the trailhead
-6:40 am Arrive at the summit and watch the sunrise
-7:40 am Return to trailhead at
-9:15 am Return to Charlottesville and hopefully (if there is interest) stop
at waffle house, which would add time of course.

9:30 might even be pushing it as traffic could be an issue on the way back so keep that in mind

Bring:
-sweatshirt/jacket
-water
-hiking shoes
-snacks
-your favorite warm caffeinated beverage

DRIVERS NEEDED!
-Drivers need to show up to SAB with a full tank of gas!
-Drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip!
