Just shortly after I led my previous hike as part of a new “I hate myself let’s wake up early on a Monday morning” series, my dear friend Claire Gloss decided to post a Bearfence sunrise trip for this Monday.

I will not stand for this. She thought she could slide it by me by giving me a shoutout in her trip description, and while I do say that it boosted my ego, I am determined to not be patronized and conquered like this. I hereby claim Monday mornings to be my time, and I will fight anyone who opposes me. I am so gosh dang diddly serious about this that I am planning on leading this trip, a sunrise hike to Chimney Rock, this Monday morning despite the bad weather and high chance of not even seeing the sunrise through the clouds.

If you would like to brave the elements and send it with me, I fully welcome you and I look forward to us bonding through suffering.

Here’s the plan: Meet at Echols at 5:15am. Don’t be late! Drive over, arrive around 6:15? prolly. Hike 1.4m ish to Chimney Rock (we’ll have 2 vista points). Sunrise (whether we see it or not) is scheduled for 6:58am. Hike back to the lot. Get back to Echols around 9:15/9:30.

What to Bring:
-book-bag if you have class at 10
-water, snacks
-layers (might be chilly)
-headlamp (not necessary but recommended)
-$5 or SNP pass (shouldn’t need it, but just in case)

–Driver’s needed!! I have a car but depending on interest it would be awesome to have other drivers as well!! Club reimburses gas+50% tip!!!–
