OVERVIEW

before we begin, i’m going to ask you to take a moment and relive one of our generation’s shared traumas. for just a second, imagine you are back in that Chuck-E-Cheese adventure tube, looking down at your parental figure/older sibling/babysitter as they completely ignore your cries from help in the slide where you genuinely believe you are stuck. it’s okay, breathe deeply, we’re done with that for now.

for our inaugural outdoor movie night, we will be showing *drum roll please*…127 Hours! For those of you who are not in-the-know, this is a harrowing tale of human resilience and the power of the will to live, sorry Padmè. Thanks to our little walk down memory lane you are now one step closer to empathizing with Aron Ralston (via James Franco) as we watch him endure hours (127 to be exact) of pure nightmare fuel, and therefore one step closer to really getting the most out of this trip, so congrats! No seriously, your anxiety dreams will never be the same after watching this movie.

our six-step plan for world domination:
1. use the potty BEFORE showing up please #speaknoworforeverholdyourpee
2. sneak into the front yard of the shred shack at 7:00 pm on Sunday
3. set up my projector and high-tech movie watching screen (a sheet) using some handy-dandy knot-tying skillz
4. sweat it out for abt an hour and a half while Aron/James does his survival thang
5. found an outdoor movie secret society maybe? idk seems like something people do around here
6. get the heck outta dodge before the residents of 116 Washington even know we were there

what should you bring?
+ your lovely smiling faces – under your lovely smiling masks please
+ some water (hydrate or diedrate peeps)
+ snickity snacks? maybe your fav movie theater candy?
+ something to sit on (!!!)

i think that a cinematic experience is exactly the stress-reliever we need right now, and I, personally, believe that watching a movie about the great outdoors IN the great outdoors is as 5d as it gets. hopefully this will become a series to enjoy until the end of covid times, so don’t sweat it if you can’t make this one!

please please please be sure you use the bathroom beforehand, there is no potty on this pain train (no seriously, there is nowhere for you to pee at the shred shack so bring a waterbottle or something if you’re super concerned)

please note that no matter who you are, you CANNOT go inside the shred shack! this is an outdoor only event. we do it outside 😉

masks and distance required at all times!

can’t wait to see all you cool cats there 🙂
