alright fellow hooligans,
So Lockridge Aqua is a super sweet cave 2 hours straight west of Charlottesville. So in addition to a beautiful drive, the entrance to this cave WILL blow yo mind. To get in, swimming in cold water with tight spaces is a must. The water is definitely in the 50’s so be prepared for some ice cold submersion. Also, because of that, once your in the cave the temperature is just as cold. Be ready to be wet and freezing while in the cave. However, constant trekking and adrenaline will keep you kinda warm. The dry parts of the cave are incredibly muddy and treacherous so be ready to get disgusting.
Lets get a late start after block party, meet at the brick at 10 am and head out. we’ll probably stop somewhere for food on the way back so plan somewhere around 5-7pm arrival. I need to wait list people until we figure out the rides but i’m down to take a sizable group in but I’ll probably cap it at 10.
Alright so what ya need to succeed:
IF you got it, a wet suit would be perfect
Lots of top layers, preferably synthetic
Good shoes
long johns maybe
extra pairs of socks
change of clothes for after
towel
and of course snaky snacks
