Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Cold Mountain / Mount Pleasant
**Note, if you want to go on the trip, but there’s a problem, like say your classes aren’t over yet at 2, send me an email and maybe we can push it back to accomidate more people!**
I’ve been really busy in the past 10 days or so, then I just realized that classes end tomorrow…wow. So, I thought after classes end, what better way to celebrate than to go hide in the woods for a night 🙂 If I wasn’t such an idiot maybe I would’ve posted this more than 24 hours before we’re going to leave! We’ll drive (unless I change my mind about where we’re going and find somewhere closer…) a little less than 1 and 1/2 hours Southwest-ish. Hike in a mile or two in the evening, set up camp, eat, etc. Then finish the rest of the circuit hike out back to the car and back to Charlottesville for some can’t-I-just-live-in-the-woods-…-this-school-thing-sucks study time before exams. The weather is going to be beautiful.
Outdoors at UVa provides:
Tues. dinner, Wed. breakfast, gas money, and if you need: big backpack, sleeping bag and pad, tent, and a seat in a car.
You must bring:
Tues and Wed lunch/snack food, at least one liter of water (I’ll be carrying at least two), solid footwear (I’ve never been on this hike, but I’ll have boots, sneakers will probably work), socks, bug spray (doubt you’ll need it yet,) toliet paper, *flashlight*, warm clothes (the low is about 55 at night in Charlottesville). Try to bring as little cotton as possible, because if it gets wet you’ll lose lots of heat! (Check the link for a full listing of what you’ll probably need)
