Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Lake Moomaw
We’ll be heading out to Lake Moomaw on Friday for a nice relaxing trip. We’ll hike 3.3 miles to “the primitive campsites at Greenwood Point on Lake Moomaw” The hike is pretty strenuous, but well worth it! We will be “rewarded with a quieter camp of much less human activity where we can enjoy golden sunrises, and pink sunsets reflected in the lake and secluded coves in which to take a leisurely swim or idly read a book”
6 is the latest that we’ll be getting back, we’ll probably be back much earlier, let me know what you want to do as far as when to get back on Saturday, we can be flexible.
The weather is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL this weekend, and suuure, the water will be a little cold – but I’m going swimmin! We’ll probably get to the campsite with a good couple of hours of sunlight left, so bring books, frisbees, bathing suits, etc, and we’ll laze the day away. Then we’ll have a good meal, socialize a good bit, and sleep a lot more We can check out the sunset in the morning, stay on the lake as long as everyone wants, then pack up and head back out the way we came in.
*** The trip is set at 8 for now, but if we get more drivers we can take more people! ***
