Corner Of Echols Dorm
Your House
Chimney Top, West Virginia, USA
Looking for a fun workout with some awesome views?!? Brave enough to eat some wild blueberries :o!?! You have found the right trip. Mina and I have picked out the shortest hike to Chimney Top in WV for a sick, steep climb up to a beautiful overlook of some rock formations and mountains (seriously, look at the pictures). The altitude is ~1700ft gain up to 3150ft, so be prepared for some big steps. AllTrails and other reviews also mentioned a rocky path/scramble near the peak, so text me if you are unsure about your full body hiking ability.
The hike is just under 6 miles and takes between 4-5 hours (from what I could find). To make this a day trip, we’ll leave bright and early at 7am from Echols, get there around 10am, finish the hike by 3pm, and be home by 6pm! The plan is to stop for lunch/snacks at the top before heading down. No need for drivers, we got you covered.
What to bring:
-WATER (2L)
-Lunch/snacks
-Sunscreen
-Hiking (able) shoes
-Pants if you are worried about trail growth
-Car tunes
