Corner Of Echols Dorm
Summersville Lake, West Virginia, USA
Ever want to try free soloing without the anxiety that comes with putting your life in imminent danger? May I present to you: Deep Water Soloing. Basically, the climbs are right next to 10+ feet deep water that will catch you when you’re done climbing or happen to fall on your way up.
We’re lucky enough that we live only a few hours away from Summersville Lake, a DWS extravaganza! It’s a super cool lake with a range of climbing levels & styles, so don’t worry if you aren’t very experienced. We’ll start on some really easy rocks to get everyone feeling comfortable climbing and falling, and then check out some sendy stuff! And hey, don’t want to fall 30 feet into the water? You only fall as far as you climb. There’s also plenty of other chill activities to enjoy if you get tired.
You should, however, feel confident in your swimming and resurfacing abilities after falling so that we can all feel safe & comfortable. We’ll be navigating the lake with a raft, but you’ll need to be able to swim a short distance to it after falling in the water. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
