Learn how to clean an outdoor sport route! In this workshop, we will walk you through the process of safely removing an anchor from a sport route, leaving no personal gear behind. We are leading this to get people closer to being able to lead intermediate climbing trips for the club!
The shred shack has a shiny new ground anchor, where we will practice cleaning from the safety of the shred shack backyard.
We will walk you through two cleaning methods, including a single-strand clean and cleaning off a bite, so you will be prepared to clean safely from a variety of outdoor anchors. If we have extra time, we’ll also walk through how to set up a quad!
Though this workshop is an amazing opportunity to practice cleaning, it does not mean that you should go clean a route without supervision!! This is just to get you more familiar with the process and ready to be supervised when you clean a route from a real life anchor!
