Humpback Rock, Virginia, USA
Hello hikers! The DEI committee is doing a collab hike with Black Girls United. This club aims to foster mentorship and bonds among 1st- and 2nd-year African-American women. Last year we did a collab hike with them, and it was a super fun time, so we are running it back!
We are hoping to do the Humpback Rocks hike, but if the parkway is still closed, then we will do the Saunders-Monticello Trail. Humpbacks will be steep, but is relatively short. It will be a beginner hiking pace with lots of stops. The Saunders-Monticello Trail is much flatter and will be a nice stroll. However, it is around 4miles long.
This hike is open to everyone, but is aimed towards women of color, especially first-year women who may be interested in BGU. But everyone is welcome to join! You do not need to be in the DEI committee to join the hike, but please come if you’re interested!
