Fernbrook Natural Area, 112930, Charlottesville, VA, USA
Ahhhh! My finals are done Thursday morning! I know that might not be the case for a lot of you, so I’ll keep this description short, as well as the trip for that fact. Did you that there’s an old growth forest pretty close to Charlottesville? For those that don’t know, an old growth/virgin forest (lol) is a forest where the trees have never been logged, so they are BIG. I’ve been here a few times, and it’s a great spot for a short hike, with plenty of mushrooms on the ground too! I know that after I am done with this semester, I want nothing more than to look at some beautiful trees, and for those who still have finals, this is a great opportunity to unwind. It’s not a super long trail, maybe two miles or so, so we can take plenty of time to look around.
