COMMUNITY CONNECTION: envisioning life post-grad

OVERVIEW

WELCOME BACK ODC FRIENDS! For those that don’t know, I graduate UVA in May..and have FINALLY started to think about my future. In doing so, I keep coming back to conversations I’ve had with peers and other odc shredders. The ODC community and its members truly inspire and excite me, and have been a HUGE resource in my post-grad contemplations. SOOOO! for that reason … I want to create a space for these conversations and connections to occur … to help those navigating life after college!

Overview: This event will be a “networking” – style event, think community connection! My plan is to hold small group discussions between members, and then organize participants based on interests/paths/aspirations. EVERYONE is welcome, regardless of your desired future “career”/life path! BUT!!! if you’re already locked into a post-grad path and don’t think you’d have anything to contribute, or wouldn’t need advice/insight from others, maybe this event isn’t for you! **READ THROUGH this description and THINK ABOUT if this event is something you want/can benefit from before signing up!!**

Purpose: to brainstorm, discuss, and inspire individuals about their lives post-grad. Members can share resources, stories, experiences, or just listen to peers. This will be a space for connecting with those in the ODC community about post-grad aspirations.

Who this event is for: This event is for those considering, planning, or thinking about their life post-graduation. I’m envisioning 3rd years and up, BUT anyone is welcome IF you resonate with the intention of this trip/feel you are able to contribute!

What to expect: small group discussion, ice-breaker/game style activities, and group-sharing. Expect to be vulnerable, think outside of the box, and reflect on your aspirations and time at UVA. **This event will give you what you put into it!!**

When: Sunday, January 28th 11am-1pm.
Where: UVA gardens (will update which specific one), with an alternate location in an Alderman conference room if its raining or too cold. (I’m hoping we can be outside though so pls expect to bring/wear layers!)

To bring:
– food/lunch if you want
– picnic blanket/something to sit on (I’ll try and bring some too!!)
– pen and paper

**I’m using the questionnaire of this trip to plan how to organize our discussions, so fill it out to the best of your ability, but know that having ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what you want to do post grad is OKAY TOO.**
