OVERVIEW

Bonfire, stars, hiking, Atvs, skyline drive, good music, good company, (possibly?) black bears. What more could you want in a weekend?? Come with to a farmhouse located on 10 acres of land bordered by Shenandoah National Park, and experience all of these things!!

On Friday evening April 12th, we will depart for Luray, VA for a night away at Laurel Woodside Farmhouse, returning Saturday evening the next day. Laurel Woodside is a house owned by my family, usually used for vacation rentals. The house can sleep up to 7-8 people on beds and one couch. There is plenty of cleared/ flat space for camping as well as a cabin further up the mountain that could also be camped in, so pretty much as many people want to camp can.

When signing up for the trip I’ll ask wether you would prefer to camp or stay in the house, and so spots to sleep inside will just be first serve first come basis. Anyone who is camping will still have full access to the house (bathroom, kitchen, etc).

Tentative Plan :

Friday:
-Leave UVA at 5:30pm
-Arrive at 7pm ish
-If the sky is clear possibly drive up to skyline drive (15 min away) to see the sunset
-Bonfire (weather permitting)+ hangout

Saturday:
-Breakfast (either food made at the house from the grocery store or go in to town to get food at a cafe)
-Depending on the weather/what people want to do, ride the 4 wheeler, hike on the property or at SNP, go into town (antiquing/thrifting)
-Lunch at Genaro’s Italian Restaurant
-cont. of whatever was happening before
-Leave Luray around 6pm
-Get back to UVa 7:30ish

What you will need:

-Camping gear if you are camping (i.e. sleeping bag, tent, sleeping pad) (If you need any camping gear you can get it in the gear room, which you can find directions to on outdoorsuva.org)
-Shoes/clothes for hiking/outdoor activities
-Bathing suit if its warm enough to go to a swimming hole
-Money for food: apx $15, more if you are going to buy extra/different food
-Snacks if you want any additional food for yourself (there will not be much extra food at the house)
-Water bottle
-Extra $$ if you are going to buy anything else
-Any toiletries you need for an overnight

***DRIVERS NEEDED**** You will be reimbursed for gas plus at 50% tip!!
