OVERVIEW

“The Craggin’ Classic Series, powered by CAMP USA and supported nationally by Scarpa, Arc’Teryx, Sterling Rope, Black Diamond, and Rock & Ice, is the country’s only nationally-touring, grassroots climbing festival. Uniting climbers around the campfire at world-class destinations, these special 3-day events celebrate all things climbing. From learning new skills and techniques, to sharing stories, sharing the rope and inspiring one another; from drinking beers and howling at the moon, to giving back and caring for our local crags, these events are the real deal.”

come one, come all, for a rad weekend of climbing shenanigans at the AAC Craggin Classic! as the description states, this is a super-fun climbing festival that travels around this country, and we’re lucky enough to have it at the New River Gorge Sept. 22-24th! I mentioned this on the club fb page a while ago, and the time is now upon us!

because the festival itself is the main attraction of this trip and we will be attending every day, you MUST have a craggin’ classic ticket to join this adventure! tickets can be bought at the link below. weekend passes are $45 and there are a limited number left. there are a few spots in optional climbing clinics for $90 if you’re feeling really fancy (**plz note that these clinics are NOT considered a club climbing trip, as they are facilitated by other non-club individuals**). you must text/email me a picture of your ticket before I will move you off the waitlist.

for those who are NOT participating in a clinic (like myself), I will be leading one of the required beginner climbing workshops so we can play around on rocks if we so choose. we may also possibly participate in other fun activities (read: mountain biking) if the shred gods (read: Garrett) so choose to assist us. non-clinic climbers will be limited to 3-4 people.

although this trip is open to all levels, the entire festival is centered around climbing, so strong interest in rock climbing (and dirty/smelly rock climbers) is highly recommended.
