Creekathon Disc Golf

OVERVIEW

Spring is finally here. The birds are chirping, the buds are blossoming, and the squirrels are looking for their nuts.

This upcoming Sunday is CREEKATHON at Walnut Creek Park. As you may or may not know, Walnut Creek has a seriously incredible disc golf course. Many would say it’s the best course in the whole state. Lucky for us, it’s just twenty minutes or so from dear ol’ uva.

I’d like to play a round of disc golf before the big feast (which I hear is around 4). If a bunch of people sign up, we may have to split into groups and stagger, but that’s not a problem.

I have enough discs for a few people to borrow some, and the club has a couple discs as well. If you don’t have your own, you can bring an ultimate frisbee too and that would be ok. If you are looking to get into the thrilling and often life-risking sport of disc golf, now would be a good time to invest in a couple discs. They sell them at Play It Again Sports for $7 for the cheapest plastic (up to ~$18 ). Feel free to ask me questions regarding which discs you should get.

I’ll already be at Walnut Creek for the biking trip, so for rides, sign up for the main creekathon adventure (http://outdoorsatuva.org/members/adventure/read/3043) and let them know you’ll need a ride there by 2 o’clock. In any case, sign up for the main trip so they’ll know how much food to bring.
