Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Walnut Creek Park
Eat some good food, meet some cool people, and learn how to roll a kayak!
Walnut Creek Park, home of the 69th Annual Creekathon, has a lake (pond? reservoir?) right next to the area we have our cookout, so I plan on going down to the water and teaching a few lucky peeps some whitewater kayaking basics and rolling.
This is a companion trip for the general Creekathon bash happening on Saturday the 7th from 12-4pm, however I can’t make it until about 1:30. My plan is to go to Walnut Creek at 1:30, hang out and eat until about 3, and then head down to the water and teach the clinic until about 4 and then head back to grounds.
If you’d like to come to the cookout later with me I’ll have a few spots in my car, but you’re also welcome to try and find a ride in a car leaving earlier.
No experience needed but water will be kind of cold so bring your great attitude!! (I’ll bring some dry tops/ pants.)
Bring:
Towel
Swimsuit (or layers you can get wet in)
Change of clothes for after
Food for the potluck
