Creekathon Secondary Hype Email/ Kayaking

OVERVIEW

Hello humans,

Creekathon is in 6 days!!!!!!!!

That’s right the biggest and baddest potluck you have prolly ever been to is this Sunday. Jeremy sent out an email about a week ago with all of the info you could ever hope to need but this is just a reminder to sign up for the main trip and create smaller side trips (such as this one).

While hanging out for the potluck is super cool, it would be even more awesome to have a smorgasbord of activities to choose from pre and post food consumption, so make more trips! (I think it would be dope if there was an entire trip dedicated to playing on the playground)

Anyways, I like kayaking so I will be doing that, ideally while potlucking. If you wanna learn introductory stuff about kayaking in a nice, calm flat water environment you should sign up. We’ll meet at Echols around 10am (potentially subject to change) and head to Walnut Creek Park until lunch has ended.

It’s gonna be a tad chilly I’m sure, so if you wanna learn to roll that will really depend on the water temperature and whether Hannah or I will get super cold from standing in it to teach you (It’ll be a game time decision).

The club will provide all the kayaking and cold weather gear you need.

Bring some water, layers of non cotton clothing and whatever potluck item you have been assigned according to your last name (see Jeremy’s email/ reprinted below for your convenience)

Potluck assignments (by first letter of last name):
A-D: beverages
E-K: appetizers, chips & other snacky things
L-R: fruit & veggies
S-Z: desserts

The Club will be providing burgers (& veggie burgers) and hot dogs!!

P.S. The club is having a yard sale of older gear at our house 511 14th Street on Saturday, December 5th (this Saturday). Come buy cheap stuff it’ll be dope (see Andrews’ email entitled “Gear Sale!!!” from Nov 16th).
