Cross-Country Skiing in Wv!

OVERVIEW

Ever tried cross country skiing? It’s really fun, arobic, and requires little experience. We’ll be traveling to White Grass Touring Center near Canaan Valley, WV where we will spend Saturday skiing on their 50km of trails. Right now, it looks like we might get some snow on Saturday!

We will leave Friday afternoon and drive to Canaan Valley, where we will spend the night bundled up in a tent. We will wake up, make breakfast, and then head over to White Grass, where we’ll rent any additional skis and get on our way! We will drive back after skiing.

The low for Friday night is 24 degrees.

Outdoors at UVA provides:
Tents, sleeping bags, breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Cross country skis (we have 5, so if more than 5 join then we’ll split the cost of rentals between all of us).

You must bring:
Money to pay for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights and money for trail fees and rental. You must also bring warm clothes and dress in layers. You will get very warm XC skiing, so you’ll shed layers — but when you stop you’ll get cold so layering is crucial!

NOTE: This trip is contigent on snow! If it warms up too much and they lose most of their snow, then the trip may be called off. It looks promising right now though.

The $19.50 includes $12 ski pass and $7.50 for rentals (assuming we have 10 people)
